I'm looking for information on Pataskala, Licking Co. OH cemeteries and on
Outville OH. Henry Weigel of Ohio is a mysterious brother or half brother
to my grandfather Charles Bernard Weigel of Baltimore. Charles Bernard

Henry Weigel is a bit of a mystery for me. I have a number of letters from
him in Ohio and later from his son Charles Bernard (Benjamin) Weigel. The
letters are addressed to my Grandfather Charles Bernard Weigel with the
salutation Dear Brother.
The father John Weigel who I believe was with Gretchin in 1847 on
the Atlantic crossing, must have returned to Germany as he had a second son
Christian Weigel b. 11 October 1850 in Kuhr- hessen,34626 Neukirchen.
Kriev-Ziegenhaim. John Weigel returned to the US in 1857 with a wife,
Margaret Durkel. I do not believe Margaret and Gretchin are the same
person. The son Christian did not accompany them. They settled in Baltimore
this time and had a daughter Barbara in 1858 (she died young and only
appears in one census). My grandfather, Charles Bernard Weigel was born 3
October 1861 in Baltimore, MD. Christian came from Germany to join the
family after 1870. Henry never shows up in the census as being in MD. I
believe Henry must have been left in Ohio in the care of someone else
between 1847 and 1850. My only suspicion at present is a John and Elizabeth
Voelker who had a son John and daughter. Elizabeth Voelker was a sister of
John Weigel. I have not been able to place the Voelkers in the US although
I have their original emigration papers. In any event I believe Henry was
raised in Ohio. As shown above both Henry and his son, Charles bernard,
lived in Columbus at the time of their deaths but were returned to
Pataskala for burial. They were Protestant. I only have Pataskalaas the
place of burial and would appreciate any information of Pataskala and
cemeteries there. Also information on Outville where Charles Bernard was
born.
Charles Bernard Weigel was an insurance agent with an office at
1101 N High Street in Columbus when he died.
