PROBE MAN'S DEATH
Local Youth Drove Auto Which Struck Farm Hand

Mancelona, Mich, July 11 -- An investigation is being made by Homer E. WELLMAN, prosecuting attorney of Antrim county, into the death Tuesday night of "Red" CANFIELD, aged about 70, farm hand, of near Bellaire, who was killed when the horse he was riding was struck by an auto driven by Thomas MORRIS, aged about 16, son of C.L. MORRIS, 173 North Parkveiw avenue, secretary- treasurer of the Columbus Dental Manufacturing Co., Columbus, Ohio.
The accident, in which the horse was killed instantly, occurred about one and one-half miles from Bellaire, between Bellaire and Fisherman's Paradise at Grass Lake, where the MORRIS family is spending the summer.
