Hi, I am new to the list and was wondering if anyone might know about the Trowbridge family? Especially a Mont Trowbridge. He was supposedly married to a Melissa Cottingham and had a son Sumner Trowbridge born about 1872. Melissa later married a Robert F. Hancock.

I am related to the Cottingham family and the Trowbridge gentleman is my brick wall. I need to know if they were actually married or if Sumner was illigitiment. So far I have not been able to find a marriage record in Fulton , Lucas or Henry counties. Could it be in Michigan.? Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
