This info came to me from another list that I belong to about preserving
newspaper clippings.

HOW TO PRESERVE A NEWSPAPER CLIPPING

When you find a special recipe in the newspaper or want to save a birth
or wedding announcement, here's how:
To preserve a newspaper clipping, dissolve a milk of magnesia tablet in
a
quart of club soda and let it sit overnight. The next day pour the mixture
into a pan large enough to hold the flattened newspaper clipping. Soak the
clipping for one hour: remove and gently pat dry. Place the clipping on a
flat surface and do not move until completely dry. The estimated life of
your
clipping after the milk of magnesia treatment is 200 years.
