Tammy,

Genealogy for Gallia Co., Ohio mailing list online URL is:

You can ask questions about ancestors online in the Gallia Co., Ohio area,
and all over the country. People will e-mail you answers to the family
member you are looking for, if they have any info for you.

This method works great! I have meet a lot of cusins, and other very kind
and helpful people this way. And gained tons of knowledge.

I have a cemetery map coming, it was free, from the Gallia Historical
Society. Last e-mail from them gave the address below, I think they got to
many requests. To get a cemetery plot map of Gallia use following address.

Gallipolis City Building
C/O Comissioners' Office
500 Block Second Ave.
Gallipolis, Ohio 4563

I am having knee surgery on March 1st. After I heal and the weather breaks
I am planning a trip to Ohio.

I am hoping to get a job there, and move there. I am very excited about
the idea of going home. After I find a job and sell our house we will buy
a home somewhere between Columbus and Lancaster. It's about a 2 hour trip
to Gallia from Lancaster. I plan to get into the WV records when I go home.

Max is thinking of retiring early. He has to check into a couple of things
first. I sure hope it works out for us, but if not I am going to stay and
look for work this summer. I don't see anything standing in our way really,
except timing as far as when Max does the paper work and stuff like that,
and actually is free of his job, sells the house here and can leave. Since
the interest rates are going down it is a good time to move.

Hope your mom is still improving!! Do you have any idea when you might go
to Ohio?

I sent to Gallia Library and got a little bit more readable copy on the
article you sent me about Poe and Lydia, the one saying he was a preacher.
Would you like a copy? It mentions a J. Layne in it. I didn't know if
you saw that or not. Also have a Johnson obit if you would like it. Let
me know.

Take Care,
Alice
