The following information was graciously provided to me by Sally Schiraldi a
descendent of William and Christiana Donaldson.

William Donaldson was born 7-31-1789 (prob. Coupar Angus, Scotland). He was
christened 8-8-1789 in Coupar Angus. He married Christiana Robertson on
Nov. 20, 1813 in Coupar Angus. He died 5-10-1868 in Gallia County, Ohio.
His wife Christiana was born ca. 1788 (Scotland) and died 10-1876 Gallia
County, Ohio. Her parents remain unknown.

William, the elder's parents were William Donaldson and Janet Will. William
was born ca. 1763 Coupar Angus, and died in the Carroll County area.
William was aged 68, and Janet was aged 84, they are in the Scroggsfield
Cemetery.

William the first is BELIEVED to be the father of William the elder, but
that is left to be fully proven. Anyone up to the challenge??? :-)

I have names of children for George and Elizabeth, William and Christiana,
and William and Janet Will, but that is about all the more I have.

BTW, George W., in case you're interested, was one of the Squirrel Hunters
called out by Ohio Governor Todd in defense of the city of Cincinnati during
the Civil War. His son (my g-grandfather) was in the 1st Ohio Heavy
Artillery, recruited out of Gallia County.

Hope this helps, and oh yes, duh, Elizabeth Donaldson Tope was b. 9-17-1822
in Schenectady, NY, she died 12-13-1899 in Gallia County. If you need
anything else, I probably have it, but forgot to add it:-) The Donaldson's
immigrated to the US in 1817.
