As my research has furthered, I have become more convinced that my great-great grandmother, Diana GRIFFITHS Jones is the daughter listed in the 1860 Gallia County census as the 18 year-old daughter of Rees D. (b. @ 1817) and Mary (Davis)GRIFFITHS. (b. @ 1818) The age listed for Diana fits with my Diana's birth year (1842) according to her tombstone.

If anyone is connected to the Rees GRIFFITHS or this Mary DAVIS Griffiths, please contact me, so that I may learn more or prove the connection. Other children in this family are Catherine Griffiths, possibly wife of David D. DAVIS, b. 1845 or 1850 (found two conflicting dates), John GRIFFITHS, b. @ 1847, and Daniel GRIFFITHS, b. @1850. All children were born in Wales, and the family first appears in the 1860 Gallia County census.

Thanks!
Kathi JENKINS Elliott
