In the 1820 Raccoon Twp. Census, Henry Carter had 2 males 0-10, 1 male
16-18, male 25-45 (Henry), 1 female 0-10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-18
(Rachel) , 1 female 26-45 (Esther).

Elijah Carter, Perry Twp. 1820 Census - 2 males 10-16, 3 males 16-26, 1 male
45+(Elijah), 1 female 10-16, 1 female 26-45. (One son - Elijah Jr., not
sure of age)

Carter's married in Gallia County, not children of John Carter and Mary Lehr
Carter:

Elizabeth Carter married Josiah Bonham 1812
Nancy Carter married John Shoemaker 1818
These two may have been sister's of Henry, Elijah or John, or daughters of
Elijah since he was at least 45 at the time of the 1820 census.

Rachel Carter married James Pritchett
Jacob Carter married Polly Wolfenberger 1824
Rachel Carter married William Johnston 1824
Braxton Carter married Sally Dunghy 1827
Fendle Carter married Harriet Jones 1827

If anyone knows who the parents of the above are, please let me know. I am
attempting to find out if the three Carter's in Gallia in 1820 were related,
I have found out that property was sold and/or inherited from John and Mary
Carter to Henry's decendents, this also happened with Nancy Carter's
children. John and Mary had a daughter named Nancy, but she married an
Allison. Many of the names are the same for the Carter family in general.
I am particulary interested in Braxton Carter and would like any information
anyone has on him.
