IN MEMORY
Mrs. Mary Ann Swisher, daughter of Joshua and Elizabeth Tipton, was born
October 31, 1847, departed this life at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wilber
S. Price, near Kyger, Ohio, at the advanced age of 85 years.
She was married to Perry Swisher in 1877, and theirs was truly a happy
home. Three children came into this home; and only son, Dayton, who died in
1900, two daughters, who survive her, Mrs. P. O. Swisher of Cheshire and Mrs.
Wilber Price of Kyger. There are also three granddaughters whom she loved most
dearly: Mary and Genevieve Price and Elizabeth Swisher.
She, early in life found her Savior and become a member of the 2nd Kyger
Baptist church and during her long life she was always keenly interested in
the work of the Kingdom.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Swisher was one noted for its hospitality, and
their many friends were always warmly welcomed. Their whole married life was
spent in Cheshire township, except for a period they lived in Rio Grande while
the children attended College.
Mrs. Swisher was the last of her family, her only brother, Henry Tipton
and only sister Mrs. W. J. Fulton, preceded her in death several years ago.
Her husband also preceded her in death three years ago.
This obit was transcribed exactly as it appeared in the newspaper. Exact
date of posting unknown. I transcribed it from a newspaper clipping that did not
have the date or name of the newspaper.
Note: Mrs. Swisher died 20 Jun 1933
