I am Gerald (Jerry) Deckard. I was born in Vinton, Gallia Co., in 1935. My family moved to Boston when I was 3. Both my mother and my grandparents are buried in Vinton Memorial Cemetery.

My wife Janet and I will be visiting Vinton on May 11, 12, and 13. Our first objective is locate the graves. Given the size of the cemetery and our health problems, this appears to be an difficult and unwise task. It would be great if someone could help us with this search.

My mother is Rosa M. Deckard (11 Aug 1910 - 1 Jun 1947. Her stone is located between stones for Mora Jones and James Synder who are not related to my mother.

My grandparents are Abner Cardwell (1869 - 1950) and Rachael Cardwell (1873 -1938) Their stone(s) is located between stones for Grace Ketchum and Viola Synder who are not related to my grandparents.

Also, does anyone have a map of Vinton Memorial Cemetery?

I am also considering replacing my mother's grave stone with a new one. Does anyone have the name, address, and phone number of a good business that might be able to do this?
