Hi Diane,
Lawrence County is a neighboring county, and there is a little
information on their website about the Underground Railroad. It's at
http://www.lawrencecountyohio.com/black/index/blackindex.htm, and then
select on "Stories of the Underground Railroad." Here is a link to another
article about the Underground Railroad in the Tri-State area (Ohio, West
Virginia, Kentucky). It's at:
http://www.cartergwoodson.org/content/view/38/26. It lists a number of
sites that were active on the Underground Railroad. The Z. D. Ramsdell
House in Ceredo, Wayne County, West Virginia was a stop on the Underground
Railroad. I stumbled across this information when I discovered that one of
my Griffith family married into the Ramsdell family. I hope this helps in
some small way. I look forward to further discussion on this. :)

HI List,
I read somewhere that Gallia County was one of the hot spots for the
Underground Railroad but I haven't seen too much info on this.
Is there any more info online about it?
Thanks,
Diane
