Genealogy DNA testing really got it's kick-start when the Thomas Jefferson & Sally Hemings DNA study gained international headlines in 1998. Here's a link to a story on that. NOTE the numerous mentions of Thomas Woodson, yes OUR Thomas Woodson, who is buried in Woodson Cemetery just south of Wellston at the junction of State Rt 32 & 327. Note that his DNA did not match Jefferson Y-DNA but he could still be Jefferson's son due to a 'non-paternal event', ie infidelity somewhere in Woodson's tree down to present day
