Gallia County Genealogical Society, OGS Chapter has several upcoming events
planned. We wanted to let you know well in advance so you could mark your
calendars.


Thursday, April 13 7 p.m. Meeting and Workshop at Probate Court

Saturday, May 6 10 to 1 Second Annual Genealogical Help Event...Focus on
Children. This year we will be helping children working on 4-H projects,
Girl and Boy Scout Badges. We will also have an adult table for help with
lineage society applications and general questions. This will be held at
Bossard Memorial Library. Advisers and leaders are alerting their members,
but all children and adults are welcome. Light refreshments will be served
and there is no charge.

Saturday, August 19 all day Chapter Management Seminar for OGS members
and even nonmembers may attend to be held at Athens We will announce time
and place at a later date. No charge for members and a potluck lunch.

September 3 Deadline for Lineage Society applications for 2006.

Saturday, October 14 Lineage Society Banquet for First Families, Civil War
and the new Settlers and Builders to be held at the Methodist Church.
Social hour at 6 and dinner at 7. This is Bob Evans' farm weekend as we've
done since 1990. More to follow as far as menu, price and speaker. For now
please remember our deadline for applications is Septmeber 3. Please keep
the applications coming! The Ohio Genealogical Society started these three
lineage societies and we asked permission to use them locally and structure
ours based on their rules. Our societies are both affiliated with and
recognized by the Ohio Genealogical Society.

Last of all, please remember that we are here to help in any way that we can
with your Gallia County research. We are more than willing to get documents
