A question was posed about "accessing the digests". I thought I'd take
a minute and explain how the rootsweb lists work.
Messages posted to the list are sent out to all subscribers to the list
(OHGALLIA-L) fairly quickly.
A digest is composed three times a day and sent to subscribers of the
digest (OHGALLIA-D), and is composed of every message sent since the
last digest.
The digest is then posted to the archives, which is accessible via
www.rootsweb.com, go down to Mailing Lists and pick your method for
looking at the past messages. Every post made since 1996 is there to be
browsed or searched.
A person can subscribe to the list or the digest or both, anyone can
browse the archives whether subscribed or not. All messages are made
available for anyone to read anytime, hopefully forever.
I hope I answered the question somewhere along the line.
