I know that Capt Judah W RANSOM, a ship captain of Sandusky OH, owned
land in Jackson Co MI, just NW of Lenawee/Monroe, which border Ohio
and the lake. I think ships sailed both sides of Lake Erie, picking
up passengers and freight between Detroit, Buffalo and the upper
lakes.
