Death records between 1867 and 1908 are kept at county courthouses. Vital
records for Geauga County can be found at
ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/oh/geauga/ or follow the link from the
Geauga County GenWeb page at http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eohgeauga/geauga.html
For deaths between 1913 and 1944 you can go to the Ohio Death Certificate
Index at http://ohiohistory.org/dindex and do a search. With that
information you can order a copy of the death certificate. The site has
instructions and forms for ordering death certificates.

I am wondering when death records were kept in OH; and also where/who a
person would contact for death info.
I have three people I am trying to find parents on-- they are
Marcia Melissa Bassett Goodwin-- died Feb 22, 1885
Eunice Bassett (mother of Marcia)-- died Mar 23, 1873
Oliver Bassett, died Mar 25, 1935
Fidelia, (sister to Marcia)-- died in Cleveland Feb 7 or 8, 1921
Arthur (possible son of Marcia)-- Nov 1, 1860
Mary Ann White (possible sister to Marcia) d. Oct 22, 1902
I am trying to link these families. Any info or help would greatly be
appreciated. Thanks
