On Sunday, October 3rd, I spent the afternoon in the Genealogy Room of the
Greene Co. Public Library. What a fine collection of resources, well
arranged and cataloged!
The lady on duty that day was especially helpful to me as my time was very
limited. She pointed me to every Henry and Margery Hains resource she knew
of in the library. I especially appreciated the microfilm reader with which
I could make photocopies.
In the Greene Co. Cemetery Inscriptions book, I located in the Forsman
Cemetery notes added by the two ladies who read the stones: Mary Lane and
Carrie Purtell. They added the C & D book reference and page number showing
Henry's and Marjery's will and appraiser list; also similar info. re: their
daughter Olive. I'm wondering if these two ladies had some connection to
this Hains family since they were able to add this information. I'd like to
hear from them. If anyone knows their addresses, please e-mail them to me.
