SWEETLY PASSES INTO LIFE OF ETERNAL REST WHILE SHE SLEPT, DEATH ANGEL
SUMMONED MRS. ANDREW FISHER
Quietly and peacefully, while she slept, Mrs. Andrew FISHER passed
away at her home, 304 Cincinnati Avenue early Tuesday morning. Resting
more easily than she had done for weeks, cheered with the thought that
the wife and mother was much improved, members of her family retired last
night after a pleasant evening when the loved invalid was among them and
joined in cheerful talk. When her sons arose this morning at 5:15
o'clock, they went to their mother's room to enquire how she felt and
found that she had passed away. A physician who was hastily called said
that she had been dead about an hour. Heart trouble, from which she had
been suffering for the last 7 weeks, caused her death. Although her
condition had been critical ever since she was taken ill, Mrs. FISHER had
seemed much improved with in the last few days, and yesterday was able to
sit up the greater part of the day.
Mrs. FISHER'S maiden name was Catherine WOLF. She was born in Germany,
December 30, 1849, and was in her 58th year when she passed away. When
she was only 9 months of age, her parents emigrated to America and lived
for a time in New York, afterward coming to Cincinnati and finally
removing to Greene County where Mrs. FISHERS marriage took place, and
which has been the family home ever since.
She leaves her husband and 9 children; Mrs. James Homer HAWKINS, of
near Xenia, Mrs. W.L. MILLER, Mrs. William H. GROTTENDICK, Mrs. Edward
MARSHALL, Charles, Harry and Clarence, Elmer and Fred, the 4 last making
their home with their parents. Her aged mother, of West of Xenia, and 2
brothers and 5 sisters also survive. They are Frank WOLF jr., Charles
WOLF and Mrs. Milton SPAHR, all of Greene County. Mrs Ashbury MCELWAINE
of Kansas City, MO., Mrs. Charles BUCK, Xenia, Mrs. Harry GARLOUGH of
Dayton, and Miss Clara WOLF who makes her home with her mother. 7
grandchildren are living.
Mrs. FISHER was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, the local
chapter of the Eastern Star, and the Rebekah Lodge. She was a buoyant,
happy nature, and because of her bright disposition and and the interest
she took in every thing with which she was associated, she was the life
of the organizations to which she belonged. She was the ideal wife and
mother, and her sudden death has been a crushing blow to the husband and
children for whom she always made her home so bright. Mrs. FISHER was a
member of the First Reformed Church.
The funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon zt 2
0'clock.
