Hi Diane,
We corresponded on these families in 1998. So glad to see you're still
working on them. Me, too! At that time, you had located 2 John Andersons
who had married Elizabeth Horneys. Were you able to get them sorted out?
They have really been tough!
One John Anderson had md. Elizabeth Horney in Caroline Co, MD Aug. 9, 1776.
Most researchers state that he was the son of James Anderson II and his
wife, Ann JACKSON (previously, his wife was said to have been Ann Clifton,
which was in error.) James & Ann married abt. 1763. Since John married in
1776, he would have probably been born around 1756 (or earlier.) I've been
trying to find out if John's father (James) had been married previously ...
or, maybe James & Ann were older than originally thought. Do you have any
clues or knowledge on this?
James & Ann (Jackson) Anderson had a son, Bartholomew, who married an
Elizabeth Horney (he was dec'd bef. 1798, Kent Co, DE.) No dates on that
marriage.
I located some of the eastern shore Andersons in Clark Co, Madison twp.
where the direct southern boundary line was Green Co, OH. This was yet
another brother (James Anderson III) and his children. I have yet to find
any of them who had gone to Guilford Co, NC bef. Ohio ... although we know
some of these Andersons did ... they went with the Nicolite group (some
Horneys & Chipmans were also Nicolites.) Many of James III's children &
grandchildren went on to IN.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Interested in the above named families, and allied families - most were in
Greene County in early 1800's, having come from Guilford Co, NC and Grayson
Co, VA areas (Quaker backgrounds). Some remained in Greene Co, with others
relocating in Fayette Co, OH, Darke Co, OH, and others went on to IN.
Would love to share/compare!
