My guess, as a former Realtor, is that etat refers to the estate,
specifically as to the "real estate". Shff refers to a Sheriffs deed, or real estate
typically that was foreclosed upon and sold by the authority of the local sheriff.
The local recorders office should be able to advise you on viewing the deed.
You will likely need the parcel number and a current address, or be able to
accurately locate it on a map of the area. Otherwise, I would suggest you
consider making use of a title company to research that for you for a nominal fee.
I believe if that is not accurate, it will be quite close!
