Benjamin F. LINDSEY was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, February 13, 1834;
died October 9, 1902, aged sixty-eight years seven months and twenty-six
days, at his home near Solsberry, Indiana, of Brights disease and heart
failure.

He was married to Mary Jane SMITH October 16, 1856 in Ohio, removed to
Indiana, near the place where he died, remaining there until his death.

To them were born seven children, six of whom, and his good wife, survive
him. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor, and
had a host of friends to mourn his untimely loss.

He was a patient sufferer, and was often heard to remark that he was not
afraid to die. He was not a member of the church, but died claiming a home
with our Father, whose will it was to take him away to a world of peace
and joy beyond, where there is no suffering. He is gone and a home is broken,
but we have the promise of a reunion to those who are faithful. His work
is ended and a vacancy is left in the hearts of all who knew him.

His remains were laid to rest in the Newark Cemetery by a host of friends,
neighbors and relatives, who mourn him as gone, but not forgotten. The
funeral services were held at Newark M. E. church, Rev. H. H. Allen, of
the Bloomfield church, officiating.
