Newspapers for Guernsey and Ohio's other 87 counties
have been microfilmed and are available at The Ohio
Historical Society located just north of the Fairgrounds
in Columbus, Ohio.There is an Online search index for
Newspaper Titles only, at their web site

at the left under Archives/Research Tools./

If travel to Columbus is a problem, check with the local
public library. They often have copies of these microfilms./

Published obituaries came into gradual use. In the early
days, the family had to pay the newspaper a fee./
