I am in the process of tracking my Graham kin in Ohio.
Here is what I have so far:
Three Graham brothers arrived from Ireland at the end of the 1700s, or early
1800s. They were William, Charles, and Christopher. There was also a James
Graham who could have been their father, or an older brother. William
served with the Ohio Volunteers in the war of 1812. I believe the others did
as well because they all qualified for government land in Ohio. They settled
in Guernsey County in the middle to late 1820s. In the mid 1830s Charles and
William sold their land to Christopher and James, then moved to Allen County
(now Auglaize County). Charles dropped out of sight, but William stayed,
populated the county with Grahams, and lived out his life there. Christopher
and James did the same in Guernsey County, James died in 1855 and
Christopher in 1872.
Have any of you researchers out there run into these folks? I am
particularly interested in locating the missing Charles and his wife, Martha
but I have a lot of blanks to fill in for the rest of the family.
