Will of EnochThomas
In the Name of God Amen I Enoch Thomas of the County of Guernsey and State of Ohio being weak of body but of sound & perfect mind & memory blessed by Almight God for the same do make and publish this my last will & testament in manner and form following that is to Say
First, it is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Anna Thomas the farm on which we now reside Together will all my personal property that I may have at my decease for the term of three years from and after my decease. Also my two Daughters Martha A. Thomas and Mary B. Thomas to have their home with their Mother on said farm as heretofore, for the term of three years from and after my demise provided they Remain unmarried.
And I further provide that the farm and buildings thereon be kept in good repair. During the above mentioned term and the expenses occuring their by to be paid out of the fund that I may have on hand or due me at my demise. The Sum of Said Farm to be paid from the Same.
Third I give and devise unto my two Daughters above mentioned fifty dollars each to be taken from my personal effects after my decease.
Fourth I give and devise unto my GrandSon Enoch Thomas Galsner who now lives with me a Horse Saddle and Briddle, which he is to have at my decease. And if Said E.J. Glasner continues to reside with me or his Grandmother on the Farm until he is eighteen years of Age then I give him one hundred dollars in money which shall be put on Interest for his benefit when he is Twenty One years of Age.
And at the expiration of three years and after my Decease if my Wife Should be living I wish her to have her third of the Farm Surveyed of including all the Buildings on said FArm together with the Orchard. Also to have one third of all the personal property that may be on Said Farm at that time.
And the Remaining Thirds of my Farm and the two Thirds of my personal property together with all moneys that is not otherwise dispensed to be equally divided. Share and Share alike with all my children or their lawful Representatives.
And Lastly, I now Make and establish this my Last Will and testament, revoking and anulling all former Wills by me made, and ratifying and confirming This and no other to be my last Will and testament.
In testimony where of I have herunto set my hand this 6th day of September 1853.
