Denise asked for historical resources for Quaker City. Here are a couple:

History of Guernsey County Ohio by Col. P. B. Sarchet, 1911. ChapterXXVIII
is "Millwood Township" -- Quaker City was originally the town of Millwood.

Stories of Guernsey County, Ohio: History of an Average Ohio County by
William G. Wolfe, 1943. Chapter XXX is "Millwood". Very entertaining.

If you can visit the Finley Room of the Guernsey County Public Library in
Cambridge, it is full of wonderful resources. You can also check their
website which offers an "Ask a Librarian" feature:

Finally, I have a copy of the November 18, 1886, front page of the Quaker
City Independent devoted to a history of Quaker City. The COLE name Denise
is researching was not included in the [lengthy] article.
