My father was placed in Guernsey Co. Children's Home in Cambridge by his father in 1939 at the age of 6 yrs. I have copies of the legal documents for this action.

I would like to find out more of this institution during this time. My father was released from this place when he was 16 I believe by his oldest brother and sister and joined the Army.

My dad's name is Dent Robert Carpenter. His parents were Dent Mott Carpenter and Vera Mae Davis Carpenter. Both parents were alive during this time, his father was the legal adult to sign him and his older siblings over to children's services due to his job taking him out of town and the children being abandon by their mother.
