Looking for any information on the Rev. B. Franklin Forsythe (usually listed as B. F.), who married Jennie Welsh around 1881. Rev Forsythe was the son of the Hon. Jesse Forsythe, state representative of Harrison County 1878-1880. He was the minister of the M.E. Church in Londonderry, Guernsey County, for a short time beginning in 1882. Am more specifically seeking information on Jennie Welsh and her family. The 1880 census for Tippecanoe Township seems to indicate she was the daughter of William Welsh.
Nancy Welch/Welsh married John Karr/Kerr in 1800 in Washington County PA. They moved to Harrison County around 1824, and to Londonderry, Guernsey County in the 1830s. Have never been able to identify any relatives of Nancy Welch/Welsh, but recently located a newspaper article indicating that a Robert and Sadie (Sarah) Welsh of Tippecanoe were visiting their cousin Andrew Kerr (son of John and Nancy) in Londonderry in 1888, on their way to visit their brother-in-law Rev. Forsythe. This is the first source we have ever located showing a connection between the Karr/Kerrs and Welch/Welsh families. Jennie, Robert and Sarah are all listed as children of William Welsh, Tippecanoe Township, in 1880 census. I believe William Welsh might have been the son of John Welch/Welsh Jr. of Harrison County.
Family traditions indicate that Nancy Welch was the daughter of Daniel Welch Sr (and sister of Daniel Welch Jr, early prominent citizen of Harrison County), although I think it is possible that she might have been the daughter of John Welch/Welsh Sr, since her second oldest son was named John Welch Karr.
Two of John and Nancy's daughters married into the Tidrick/Tedrick and Lawrence families, also living in Guernsey County.
Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking if I could locate information on the Forsythe family, I might be able to locate more information on Jennie Welsh Forsythe family.
