Hi Cousins
My name is Paul Watkins, the son of Charles Watkins, the son of Charles
Watkins, the son of Thomas Watkins, who was a brother to Elizabeth Watkins,
both sons and daughters of Thomas Watkins and Elizabeth Worley. My wife Mary
and I have been researching these roots for 22 years, and have a lot of
information regarding descendants of Thomas Watkins and Elizabeth Worley. I am also
in contact with several descendant lines of the family all of us willing to
share the information we have gleaned. Below is that first generation of the
family which was found on several D.A.R. applications which originated in
1910 and duplicated by several cousins and daughters, the information being
duplicated word for word on all the documents. These D.A.R. applications indicate
the father of this Thomas Watkins was a Peter Watkins whose father was a
William Watkins both who fought in the Revolutionary War. I believe strongly
that these are not the true ancestors but were adopted by the first D.A.R.
applicant. Recent research has pretty well proved this as William was found to be
actually two years younger than the listed Peter in official documents
located at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, PA.

I would be happy to receive any information you have on the family
especially Elizabeth as I have no current documented information on her. Several
years ago we did find the marriage listing for Elizabeth Watkins and David
Marpole, but were not sure about it because of the age. All census information
we found indicated that this Elizabeth was born in 1821, but practice has
shown that a lot of census data is not totally correct. It appears that Elizabeth
and sisters Juleanne and Susannah went to live with their elder brother John
after the death of their mother. This was found on the 1840 census for
John's family. Hoping to hear from you soon.
