Hi,
Can anyone help me with this families? I am trying to connect
Elizabeth Ann (Sinclair) Francis with her parents. I suspect that her
parents are Thomas Sinclair and Margaret Duncan, but need proof. Samuel
Francis and Elizabeth Ann (Sinclair) Francis are my G-Grandparents. I an
including what I have on the family and why I think that they connected.

In the 1850 Census for Muskingum Co., there is a Samual Sinclair, age 6
with Samual and Elizabeth Francis. Samuel Sinclair is almost to old to
be Elizabeth Sinclair son. In the 1860 US Census for Clay Twp., Adair
Co., Mo. Samuel and Elizabeth Francis are living with their children and
there is no Samuel Sinclair living with them. This makes me think that
Samuel Sinclair is not Elizabeths son, but a brother. In the 1860 US
Census, there is a Samuel Sinclair, age 14, in Cumberland Spencer Twp.,
Guernsey Co., Ohio with a Thomas Sinclair, age 59, in the home of George
Stockwell and his family. I am unable to find either Samuel Sinclair,
Thomas Sinclair or George Stockwell after that in the census. As Samuel
Sinclair is only 2 years differents in age, I think that they are the
same person.
There is a Thomas Sinclair who married a Margaret Duncan in Belmont
Co., Ohio on 21 March 1823. Is Elizabeth Ann Sinclair b. 26 Nov. 1826
their daughter?. She married Samuel Francis in 1846 in Muskingum Co.,
Ohio. On the 1860 US Census for Spencer Twp., Guerney Co., Ohio next to
the George Stockwell family that has Thomas and Samuel Sinclair living
with them, is a John R. Duncan. Spencer Twp, Guernsey Co., Ohio and
Salt Creek Twp., Muskingum Co., Ohio are just a few miles apart. On the
east side of Guernsey Co., is Belmont Co., Ohio.
Now Samuel and Elizabeth [Sinclair] Francis named their first child,
Cynthia [Samuel Francis mothers name], their second child, Thomas James
[James is Samuel Francis fathers name], and their third child Margaret.
Following the name pattern, is Thomas Sinclair and Margaret Duncan,
Elizabeth Ann Sinclair parents? I think that they are, but need more
proof then what I have.

Can anyone help me with the connection?
