MYERS, Wm. R. & Matilda Ann GIVIDON/JIVIDEN/etc.. Family legend says
William "sang in the NY Metropolitan Opera and in off season made boots
in Cincinnati that sold for $100 a pair!" Wm. & Matilda orphaned 6 or 7
children c1859. The family is on the 1850 Census of Lawrence Co Ky.
Wm. R. 38 Shoemaker, b. VA, Matilda Ann 32 b. VA, Rachel Ann 15 b. OH,
William V. 9 b. VA, Mary J. 7 b. VA, Martin F. 5 b. KY, Romaine M. b.
KY. Geo. Eby MYERS (my grandfather) b. KY 1857 (Co. unk.). Legend
says Martin F. was orphaned at 14. He joined Union army as drummer boy.
He was 14 in 1859. Legend says Woodson was b. c185? (never found). By
1860 Census, Boyd Co KY, Rachel is with Thomas SARGENT and her two
siblings William and Romaine. Can't locate the rest. Wm. R. is believed
to be the s/o of John & Rachel (ROSEBROCK) m. 3 Oct 1811 Frederick Co
VA.
