Hi all

Does anyone have information regarding subscribers or investors in the
Miami Exporting Company, which was once located on Front Street in
Cincinnati?

It was the west's first registered bank, and went broke in 1842, causing
quite a riot. It had had closings before, as well, in those pre-FDIC days.
The shares cost $100 apiece, a large sum, and many of Cincinnati's leading
citizens lost their shirts, and more, in the closings.

I'm interested in knowing who the losers were, because my Thompsons are
believed to have been among them. The family story is that they "lost their
all through endorsements," and I take it to mean the fall of the Miami
Exporting Company because this company was mentioned in one of the family
wills.

Is there any information available?
