Subject: 3rd Order of the Holy Franziscus

I found my gr grandmother's death notice in a Nov. 1887 issue of the
Cincinnati Volksfreund and it said that she was a member of the 3rd
Order of the Holy Franziscus. Does anyone have information about this
order or an idea of where I might find out about it? Thanks for any
