Dear list:

Does anyone recognize this Armstrong family in the Cincinnati, Ohio area
during the 1850's and 1860's?

Jane ARMSTRONG, widow, b. 1813 Ireland.
Eliza, b. 1836, New Brunswick, Canada
Matthew, b. 1838, Pennsylvania
John, b. 1842, Pennsylvania
William, b. 1844, Pennsylvania

I found this family lived in Philadelphia close to where my Jane
Armstrong, b. 1832, Ireland, worked at the House of Refuge of
Philadelphia. I don't know the name of the father, but it could be
Matthew Armstrong, judging from the name of the first son, or possibly
John Armstrong, judging from the second son's name, or William, from the
third son's name.

For your information, my Jane Armstrong married Matthew GREEN in 1856. I
still don't know where yet but suppose it could have been in Cincinnati
or Philadelphia or perhaps some city along the Mississippi or Ohio
Rivers.
