The records are kept in the City vital stats office if the death occurred
within the limits of the City of Cincinnati. If the death occurred elsewhere
it will be in the political subdivision of the death. In Hamilton County,
that would be the County health dept. vital records section located now in
the Sharonville area. If the death occurred in Norwood, their city hall; if
in Cheviot, their city hall etc. Sounds confusing, but try Cincinnati first
since all the hospitals in the city before 1940(?) were located within the
city limits. Next try the county unless you know the death was in Norwood.
Those are the three largest jurisdictions in the area.
