For Jay & other Rothert researchers,
According to my late mother's research, 2 of my gg-grandmother's sisters married Rothert brothers. And it's interesting that Steve should mention that Epe may be their town of origin
because that is where one set of my ggg-grandparents, John Rudolph Buhrlage and his wife, Catherine Maria Breckwede (1802-1885) came from. All my german ancestors settled and married
here in Cincinnati.
My g-grandmother, Anna Elizabeth Wachtendorf (1861-1944) m. Daniel Edw. Schmidt (1860-1934). Anna's sisters who m. Rothert brothers were:
Mina Frederika Wachtendorf (1869-1896) m. Oscar Wm. Rothert (1868-??). They had 2 sons: Edwin Rothert (1895-1977) and Henry Ludwig Rothert (1896-1896-infant).
-and-
(Mary) Louise Wachtendorf (1873-1944) m. Henry L. Rothert (1871-1963). they had a daughter, Evelyn Louise Rothert (1908-1985).
My mother's notes also indicate that August (b. 1837) and Elizabeth Rothert were the parents of Oscar William (b. 1868), Henry L. (1871-1963), Ida Rothert, and Lorena Rothert.
I hope some of these Rothert's connect!
