The NARA site has added searchable Irish immigrant records. There are a
number of Flaherty listings, but the records are not 100% complete. Good

<< I have searched the 1860 census for Cincy and most of Ohio and
Kentucky, St. Louis, New Orleans, and VA.  I can't find a Bridgit of
reasonable age or any female Flaherty who was 7 or 8 in 1860.  Supposedly,
Bridget came to the US as an infant but may have been older.  Her family was
from Galway Bay so there is a good chance she came in thru New Orleans and
worked her way up the Ohio to Cincy.>>
