I had used this site before to research Indiana CW soldiers, but I discovered
that it contains records for many other states, including some CSA.

Cincinnati Daily Gazette 1827-1881

And there are no Joseph Edwards' obits near 1841. Edwards is a very
prolific surname so there are many, including Joseph, but at totally
different
times.
