Marilyn,
That's the best suggestion for finding his death certificate that I've heard
to date. The funeral home we all thought handled his funeral says they did
not, so I didn't know where else to go, except maybe that he died in a
different county. Thanks much, I'll try the Marathon/Sterling Twp. idea.

Carol,
I don't think you can get a death certificate from the state of Ohio unless
you have the exact date of death, but the funeral home that handled
the burial should have the place and date of death and that information
might
be in the burial record for the cemetery.
The Bloomrose Cemetery is located in Sterling Township in Brown County,
near
the Village of Marathon. See the Brown Co. map at their web site:

It's been my experience that these older rural cemeteries are cared for by
the Township Trustees who have a Road Services Dept., so if Bloomrose
Cemetery
doesn't have an administration office with burial records, (which they
probably don't) the Sterling Township Administration Dept. or Trustee's
office
might have burial records that will give you the name of the funeral home
that
handled the burial.
You might try sending a request to the Brown County mailing list and ask
for
the address and phone number of the Sterling Twp. Trustee's office or
Township Administration office or whatever they call it.
Here is the URL to subscribe to the list:

Good Luck,
Marilyn in Ohio

If there are any records available for the year 1936, could someone check
for the death location of Squire TUMBLESON, died in 1936, maybe in February.
He
is buried in Brown County, Ohio, in Bloomrose Cemetery, but I have not been
able to obtain a death certificate because I don't know in which county he
died. He is not on the Ohio Historical Death Index. He was my husband's
grandfather. Any help would be appreciated.
