Hi,

Just wanted to say I agree with the last mention on this subject.

I took a look at the entry in the 1910 census on HeritageQuest. That
census taker did the same thing throughout the enumeration. The straight line
------- is used instead of the ditto marks ( '' ) some others used so they
didn't have to repeat the same surname again.

Freda was apparently a Wendt, with a middle initial "McD." Maybe it's a
family name of some kind.
