Ann, An index would be a wonderful thing to have. My grandfather, ALFRED
HULL b. 1873 was a member of the C.F.D from 1903 'till medical retirement
in 1912. His father GEORGE M. HULL b.1826, was a member of the volunteer
unit the "WOODEN SHOES" in Camp Washington, from the 1840's until they were
dissolved in 1853 when C.F.D. was formed. I believe the Wooden shoes became
"NORTHERN FIRE CO. No.7 at that time. I also believe that Mr. AHRENS, later
to form the fire equipment mfg. company of AHRENS - FOX, was also a member
of the 'Wooden Shoes'. It is further info on the WoodenShoes that I am in
search of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bill
