I was looking through my Cincy book, and if you don't have this one, it is worth trying to find. This one was a third printing, in 1973, by Landfall Press,Inc. My mother's cousin sent this to me, and he put post a notes on the pages that were where our gr-grandparents lived, worked and played. It is a little bit of the history of the SEIBEL and SEBILLE families. I found out Race, McMicken, Vine, Liberty and Elm streets were very much a part of their lives. He had churches, stores, etc marked. One amusing thing is how ,as a young lad of 10 (1920), he would sometimes get to ring the bells at The Saint Peters Evangelical Church on Saturday at 6 pm. He said on the upswing they would ride the ropes, and that was an exciting thing for them. They lived a few houses down, and could see the steeple from their window. Findlay Market was another area where Gr-Grandmother lived. Frank said the boys played in that area. He would go up those outside flights of stairs and down another to!
get there. On Sycamore Hill, he said the thing to do in your teens, was to drive your car up the hill in high gear. I guess things haven't changed that much. And another thing I found amusing was this. He called the blocks squares. "We lived 4 squares from the church." We say four blocks. This is a book of streets, places and churches. Few ,if any, names of people are mentioned, but the street names helped me locate some of my ancestors.--Mary
