The world for Cincinnati researchers is a happy place due to the efforts of
many, but in your case, Bill Graver produced HAMILTON COUNTY, OHIO, GUIDE TO
RECORDER'S INDEXES AND DOCUMENTS, 1794-1988. In this guide of more than 20
different types of records, his chapter on Indexes to Deed Documents states
that they were recorded as early as 1794 and he lets you know about the
indexes to those records. Mortgage records and Mechanic Liens were recorded
in the Deed books beginning at the same time. Many other types of documents
were recorded in these early Deed books as well. I am sure that a copy of
this guide is in the Recorder's office, Cincinnati Library, Cincinnati
Historical Society Library/Archives, as well as other places. But you will
have to do, or have done, the actual search in the Recorder's Office. Bill
has published some additional indexing, but I couldn't find your name in the
one at my desk (1801-1820). The other book covers 1804-1806 and 1814-1817
and I discovered this afternoon that I have sold all but about one box in
storage which I will get tomorrow unless someone has one and can do a lookup
for you.
Hope that answers your question. Good luck.
Barbara
