United Methodist Church Archives for Ohio are, both in the Eastern Ohio
Conference and Western. I am assuming Cincinnati is in the Western.
Each conference has an archivist and a storage place. Go to there web
site and find the History and Archives section and usually there is an e
mail to the person. The big push for Drew University in Madison NJ is
not the archive for MN so check with the local one for the place you
are looking for. Yes records are supposed to be turned over to the
conference office when a church closes, but that does not always follow
through. Especially when you have new & some yourng ministers who think
those records do not need to be there anymore and destroy them. (Seen
it happen, Walnut Grove Minnesota)

Thank you, Ann. In the Methodist communion, I have found out that if
the
information is "at the church" then the church is still in operation.
When
the church goes out of operation, then the records are ordinarily sent
to
the Archives. The only problem is that any time I've tried to get
anything
from the archives, they don't answer my queries. This happened both in
Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Kathryn
