I thought I should pass this opinion on to people. It might save you.

Genealogy Scam
This note is a warning to the genealogy public to be aware of fraudulent
genealogical search providers, in particular that located at the site
listed below:

http://genealogyPro.com/nmitchell.html

After 4 months and more than $125 U.S. in expenses I have received no
useful information from the provider. Now I recognize that searches do
not always turn out positive. I have considerable experience in that
myself. In this particular case though it should be a simple matter
either to find the military record or not. As it turns out the wrong
record was sent when the "searcher" had more than enough documentation
to easily tell the difference. The record sent was not even in the
correct branch of military service and obviously the wrong individual. I
then paid an additional fee to get the correct record, which I was
assured was correct and complete. Needless to say nothing was
forthcoming (over months) and my e-mails are not answered. At best this
individual is inefficient and incompetent, at worst a fraud and a thief.
My bet is on the latter.
My advice (learned the hard way) is to check out your provider
thoroughly. Get a referral from someone who has used the service with
success. It may take a little more time but you'll be a lot happier for
it.
Don't use the above site!
