I just discovered something I had not thought of before. The Hancock COunty Board of Elections has SOME voter registration cards on microfilm. I believe they are 1930-1949. At least that's what I saw. When the registration card was pulled because the voter had died or moved, those cards were kept and filmed. THey (the films) must be kept forever, from what I understand. They are alphabetized within the 1930-1949 timeframe.
For example, I wanted to see Amanda Banker and various Platt family members. I had hoped they would have beginning in 1920 when women got the right to vote. But I'll settle for what they have! Anyway, Roll #1 was A-B, and Roll #& included Platt. The registration cards showed when they had voted, birthdate, address (or addresses), and a signature. SIgnature! I had not even thought of that, but they were kind of exciting to see.
The Board of Elections does not have a reader, so you have to check out the films and take them to the library. Just thought I'd pass this along. Apparently I was the first to use them in 2 or 3 years! BTW, the next 10 years are out being microfilmed. Happy hunting... Ann Brickner
