Hi Sue,
After reading the info on her death cert you sent, I have been checking some
of my records. I have more questions now than answers! I am wondering if
this is the same Cynthia Sloan that was a daughter of James and Rachel
(Kirkpatrick), ...but raised by Sarah who married James Sloan after his 1st wife
Rachel died in 1862?

In the 1860 Census, Cherokee Twp., Logan Co., Book 1, Page 45b., lists my
James Sloan family #654, with wife Rachel and children. One of the children
was Cynthia, age 4, (b. abt 1856).

The LDS Marriage Records has a marriage of James Sloan to Sarah ROE, Feb 6,
1863, Logan Co., OH. (Roll?) I know the LDS records are filled with
misspellings! Telles / Tullis!

In the 1870 Census, McArthur Twp., Logan Co., Book 1, Page 142b., lists
James Sloan family #108, with wife Sarah and additional younger children.
Cynthia, now age 18 (should be 14).
One of James and Rachel's sons, Marion, b. 1849, age 20 in this census, died
in 1924, Auglaize Co., OH. His name was Francis Marion Sloan. He was my
children's paternal g-g-grandfather, whose family I am researching for a family
tree.
I recently posted his Obituary on the Auglaize Co., Mailing List, 7/16/2007
and the Logan Co., Mailing List, 7/18/2007. His Obit did Not mention any
surviving sisters,...only one brother, J. G. (Joseph) Sloan of San Bernardino,
Calif.!!

Some of the pieces in this puzzle fit, others don't. Should I be looking
for another Cynthia Sloan?
Julia
