Hello Spevak (),
I checked our Huron County publications and found the following
references to the surnames NOGGLE and BROOKS. Hope they may be of some
help.

(Of more than passing interest is that my wife's great great
grandfather, Phineas GUTHRIE, has a farm next to Lemuel S. BROOKS in sec
. 2, plat 6 with 78.94 acres).
I. NOGGLE, Greenfield Twp (p. 45), sec. 1, plat 29.

Norwalk (Connecticut)......"Lemuel BROOKS, 287 (pounds), 15
(shillings), 4 (pence).

Greenfield, arrived in the fall of 1817. He was then advanced in life,
and had served as an officer in the war of the Revolution, and
participated in the battle of Quebec. He died in the year 1831 at the
age of ninety years. His wife was formerly Esther SPRAGUE. They had
a family of eight children, five of whom are living."

where Lewis WOOD now lives."

got their start:......."Mr. Newman owned the mill site for 11 years and
sold it in 1836 to David NOGGLE who sold it not long after to
Elijah Conger. Apparently the NOGGLES (Jacob and David) built a newer or
larger mill, since they paid $500 for 121 acres from Mr. Newman and
sold 14 acres to Mr. Conger for $2,500. I might add that $2,500 was a
small fortune in 1836, especially considering the great financial panic
panic which swept the country the following year..."
