Hi Ruth,
Good hearing from you. I'm the only one in the family with the
genealogy bug. I think it is a great challenge and a lot of fun. I just got
back from researching the Boughton\Bouton line in Victor NY. I was able to
connect my mothers side to Count Nickolas Bouton of France who was a
Huguenot and his son John swore alligence to the English crown in exchange
for free passage to the new country. What an exciting side of the family to
research. Two of my ancestors on the Bouton side fought in the American
Revolution and uncle Claudius Victor Bouton is given credit with founding
Victor, NY.
The Lantz line I traced back to John Lantz of Germany. It appears we
were Amish and Mennenite until about four generations back. This explains
why we love the Amish country so well. We are related to most of them. What
fun!
Speaking of my mother she just went through surgery at 79 and came
through with flying colors. She will spend a few days with Bonnie then will
go back home.
Great hearing from you, Best regards,
Bill
