Hello to all (from not-so-sunny California:-)
I'm new to this list and first of all want to thank Judy for all her
effort in putting this together! It's a great service-many thanks!

I am trying to find the ancestors of JOEL and ELIZABETH "BETSY" (EELLS)
ROGERS who came to Huron Co in about 1832 from Lyons, Wayne Co, NY.
This family seems to be all intermarried/mixed up with the LIVERMORE,
DAY and MEAD families also. With apologies for the length (these guys
had LOTS of kids!) following is what I have on them and their children,
and I'd be very happy to share or hear from others who may be
interested:

JOEL ROGERS was born in 1792/93 in BULLTOWN SPRINGS, PHELPS, ONTARIO
CO, NY. He was married to ELIZABETH "BETSEY" EELLS (born on 1 May 1796
died on 4 Jul 1888 in CLARKSFIELD TWP, HURON CO, OH). JOEL ROGERS and
ELIZABETH "BETSEY" EELLS had the following children:

1. MARY ANN ROGERS was born in 1815 in NEW YORK. She died on 3 Apr
1889 in OLENO, HURON CO, OH. She apparently was adopted. She was
married to ROWLAND SEARLS in HARTLAND, HURON CO, OH. ROWLAND SEARLS was
born about 1808 in MASSACHUSETTS.

2. MYRON ROGERS was born on 14 Apr 1818 in PHELPS, ONTARIO CO, NY. He
died on 8 Feb 1889 in HARTLAND, HURON CO, OH. He was married to MARTHA
MARIE PHILLIPS on 14 Apr 1841 in HURON CO, OH. MARTHA MARIE PHILLIPS
was born on 28 May 1824 in NEW YORK. She died on 4 Apr 1906 in HURON
CO, OH.

**3. MORRIS JOEL ROGERS was born on 11 Jan 1820 in PHELPS, ONTARIO CO,
NY. He died on 29 Jan 1893 in OTO, WOODBURY CO, IA. He was married to
CHARLOTTE LIVERMORE (daughter of DANIEL LIVERMORE and DESIREE MEAD) on
13 Oct 1844 in HURON CO, OH. CHARLOTTE LIVERMORE was born on 15 Nov
1829 in CHENANGO CO, NY. She died on 1 Mar 1895 in OTO, WOODBURY CO,
IA.

4. SMITH DR. ROGERS was born in 1821 in PHELPS, ONTARIO CO, NY. He
appeared on the census in 1850 in BERLIN TWP, ERIE CO, OH. He died on
11 Jul 1867 in CALHOUN CO, MI. He was married to HARRIET HARRIS.
HARRIET HARRIS was born about 1820 in OHIO.
He was married (#2) to ANN.

5. PALMER ROGERS was born on 1 Sep 1823 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY. . He
died on 17 Dec 1915 in HERMOSA, CUSTER CO, SD. He was married to
MATILDA DAY (daughter of SAMUEL DAY and HANNAH ROBBINS) on 11 Feb 1847
in CLARKSFIELD TWP, HURON CO, OH. MATILDA DAY was born in Jul 1827 in
OHIO. She died on 18 Jan 1906 in ANTHON, WOODBURY CO, IA.

6. POTTER ROGERS was born on 1 Sep 1823 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY. He died
in 1826 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY. He Palmer and Potter are identified as
twins.

7. MARY M. ROGERS was born in 1825. She appeared on the census in 1860
in CLARKSFIELD TWP, HURON CO, OH. She died after 1889. She was married
to LEMUEL SMITH on 11 Feb 1846 in HURON CO, OH. LEMUEL SMITH was born
about 1820 in OHIO.

She was married (#2) to AVERY EDWARDS on 25 Apr 1866 in HURON CO, OH.
AVERY EDWARDS was born about 1827 in OHIO. He died in 1899.

8. DANIEL ROGERS was born on 29 Mar 1828 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY. He
died in 1899 in SANDUSKY, ERIE CO, OH. He was married to ISABEL LANGWELL
on 20 Sep 1850. ISABEL LANGWELL was born about 1835 in OHIO.

He was married (#2) to VICTORIA FANNING after 1870.

9. BENJAMIN F. ROGERS was born on 3 Aug 1830 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY.
He died after 1896 in CLYDE, SANDUSKY CO, OH. He was married to ALMIRA
"MYRA" BUCK on 1 Nov 1857 in HURON CO, OH. ALMIRA "MYRA" BUCK was born
about 1839 in OHIO, possibly in Norwalk. She died in 1876.

He was married (#2) to BELINDA "MARY" MALCOM on 2 Sep 1877 in CLYDE,
SANDUSKY CO, OH. BELINDA "MARY" MALCOM was born about 1847 in OHIO.
10. HARRIET C. ROGERS was born on 13 Oct 1832 in LYONS, WAYNE CO, NY.
She was married to MATTHEW GREGORY (son of POLLY) on 11 May 1884 in
CLARKSFIELD TWP, HURON CO, OH. MATTHEW GREGORY was born on 7 Jul 1829
He died on 28 Jan 1908 in CLARKSFIELD TWP, HURON CO, OH.

11. JEREMIAH ROGERS was born on 22 Aug 1834 in HURON CO, OH. He died
after 1889. He resided in 1908 in CLEVELAND, OH.

12. REUBEN ROGERS was born about 1837 in OHIO. He died after 1889 in
IOWA. He was married to EMILY E. CLARK (daughter of UPTON CLARK and
SARAH SALLY L. DAY) on 17 Nov 1858 in HURON CO, OH. EMILY E. CLARK was
born about 1837 in OHIO.

13. ELIZABETH ROGERS was born in 1838 in HURON CO, OH. She died on 9
Nov 1906 in NEW LONDON TWP, HURON CO, OH. She was married to JOHN C.
(J.?) DUNNING (son of JOHN S. DUNNING and ELIZIER A.) on 6 Jun 1857 in
HURON CO, OH. JOHN C. (J.?) DUNNING was born about 1835 in
CONNECTICUT.
14. JOEL MELVILLE ROGERS was born on 7 Feb 1840 in HARTLAND, OH. He
died on 6 May 1905 in NORWALK, HURON CO, OH. He was married to ARRIETTE
A. DAY (daughter of EPHRAIM DAY and SARAH E. PARKER) on 3 Dec 1865 in
HURON CO, OH. ARRIETTE A. DAY was born on 18 Aug 1840 in CLARKSFIELD
TWP, HURON CO, OH. He was married (#2) to LYDIA DALEY on 8 Dec 1880 in
HURON CO, OH. LYDIA DALEY died in Dec 1904 in NORWALK, OH.
