There is a large brick building on Benedict Ave. that was used as the
Huron County Orphanage for years, not sure of the dates. I had always heard
that this had been the orphanage for the county for years, so I am guessing
that the records for it would be with the courthouse in Norwalk, the county
seat. You might try contacting the Welfare Dept. of Huron Co. or Social
Services, Huron Co. as they should know what name the files should be under
